Community Service

"Freely you have received, freely give."
- Jesus Christ in the Gospel according to Mathew, 10:8

Helping Ourselves by Helping Others

The simple act of giving back can make a tremendous difference in our community. It also feels great! Start now in giving back by getting involved in one or more of the following service opportunities:

Service Opportunities:

  • Heritage Retirement Community: Bring joy to seniors aged 80+ at the Heritage House, a non-profit, non-sectarian retirement community in the Marina. We meet every Wednesday evening between 6:15 and 6:30 for singing, games, and theme parties.
  • Delivery of Fresh Fruit to the Homeless: Help us deliver fresh fruit to the homeless in San Francisco. Become a regular or volunteer once a month – whatever works with your schedule.
  • SVDP Soup Kitchen: Practice your culinary skills and provide nourishment to those less fortunate on the third and fourth Saturdays of every month at the SVDP Soup Kitchen in South San Francisco.
  • Junior Achievement: Share your work experience with SVDP students in grades kindergarten through eighth by presenting Junior Achievement (JA) developed lesson plans that educate and inspire young people to value free enterprise, business, and economics to improve the quality of their lives.
Please note that in addition to the regular service opportunities above, we also organize other one-time "Special Project" community service events throughout the year. Check our calendar for upcoming events.
