An Evening with Fr. Ring |

Thank you to the 60+ young adults who joined us for our evening with Fr. John K. Ring and annual summer wine and cheese social. Ordained in 1961 in the old cathedral on Van Ness Ave., and appointed on December 19, 1986 as the fifth pastor of St. Vincent de Paul. Fr. Ring has since made the young adults feel like a vital part of the parish of St. Vincent de Paul.
The evening began with an interactive presentation with Fr. Ring on ‘basic beliefs and values of 21st century Catholics’, then moved to the Donor's Room for our wine & cheese social.
A little slice of history on our group:
While strong in the 1950s and called the "Green Steiner's", the group went silent for a couple decades. Not long after becoming pastor, Fr. Ring called a meeting for anyone who wanted to get involved in young adult ministry. You could say the rest is history.
