Fr. Michael Strange, born in 1939, was raised in St. Cecilia's Parish in the Parkside. After twelve years in the seminary, he was ordained in 1965 and joined the Sulpician Fathers, a community dedicated to priestly formation. His assign-ments were at St. Edward-St. Thomas in Seattle, St. Joseph in Los Altos Hills, and the seminaries in Zambia, Africa, where he taught for thirteen years. That last assignment opened his eyes to our larger human community as well as our universal church. Then he spent eight years as associate at St. Vincent de Paul Church, a rich blessing.
Now retired, he is happy to be back at SVDP. He also says Mass once a week at St. Anne's Home, run by the Little Sisters of the Poor, and helps there when needed. Interests include classical music, esp. opera, plays, sports, and reading. He is grateful for the warm welcome from all the members of SVDP.
